Straightforward answers about cost, what to expect, and how to get started.
I believe therapy should be accessible. Cost should not be the reason someone does not get help. Here is how my pricing works.
50-minute individual, couples, or family session. In-person in Murray, UT or telehealth anywhere in Utah.
Free 30-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. No commitment required.
Reduced rates available based on financial need. Ask when you reach out — I mean it.
I genuinely want to help the people who need it — not just the people who can easily afford it. If the standard rate is a barrier for you, please say so when you reach out. We will have a real conversation about what is workable.
I would rather work with someone at a reduced rate than have them not get support at all. Financial strain is often part of what brings people to therapy in the first place. I am not going to make it harder to access.
I am currently a private pay (out-of-pocket) practice and do not bill insurance directly. Here is why that is actually worth knowing:
If the cost of private pay is genuinely prohibitive, let me know. I would rather find a way to make it work than have you go without support.
Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" of expected charges before your first session if you are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance (self-pay).
What this means in practice:
For questions about your Good Faith Estimate, contact colby@colbychristensentherapy.com or call (385) 410-4489. For more information about your rights, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
A free 30-minute consultation is the lowest-pressure way to see if this is a good fit. No commitment, no pressure.
